Will Freezing Venison Kill Parasites?

Venison is a highly perishable food, and it is recommended to handle and cook the meat appropriately to keep it safe to consume. Venison may contain tapeworms and parasites. Never eat fresh venison. To avoid these parasites and tapeworms, it is recommended to freeze the meat for 48 hours. In addition to freezing, make sure the meat is cooked thoroughly at or above 160 degrees Farenheit.
